COD Fee Pro
Charge customers a fee when they pick Cash on Delivery at checkout. Per-market pricing, automatic application, zero manual work after install.
The cost of Cash on Delivery is real.
Cash on Delivery raises return rates, ties up working capital, and adds courier handling fees most merchants quietly absorb. In some markets it’s nearly half of all orders — too expensive to refuse, too costly to ignore.
COD Fee Pro lets you pass a small, transparent surcharge to customers who choose Cash on Delivery. Customers who pay upfront aren’t penalised. Customers who want COD see the fee clearly at checkout and can choose to switch payment methods.
One install. Done.
1. Install on your Plus store
On install we automatically create a hidden “Cash on Delivery Fee” product in your catalogue and publish it to your Online Store sales channel. You don’t need to configure anything.
2. Set your default fee
Open the app dashboard inside Shopify Admin and set the default fee amount in your store’s base currency. That’s the only configuration step.
3. Add the block to checkout
In the checkout customizer, drag the COD Fee Pro block onto the payment step. No fields to fill in — the block reads its configuration directly from the store.
4. Customers see the fee, you collect it
When a customer selects Cash on Delivery, the fee is added as a regular line item. Switching to Credit Card removes it. Orders complete normally with the fee included in the total.
Built for real Plus operations.
Per-market pricing
Set different fee amounts for different markets in your Shopify Markets settings — €3.49 in the EU, 49 SEK in Sweden, 100 RON in Romania. The banner and the cart line both respect the market price automatically.
Per-market wording
The checkout banner ships with a sensible English default. If you want to translate it or adjust the wording, you can override the text per-market in the checkout customizer. Placeholders for amount and currency are filled in at runtime.
Self-healing setup
Accidentally delete the COD Fee product? Open the app once and it recreates and re-publishes itself. You don’t need to think about it.
Real line item, real reporting
The fee is a regular Shopify product line, not a tax adjustment or hidden surcharge. It shows up in your order reports, exports cleanly to your accounting, and refunds normally.
GDPR-friendly by design
We don’t store any customer data. The app only knows about your shop domain, your OAuth token, and the fee amount you configured. See the Privacy Policy for full detail.

Common questions.
Will customers actually still pick Cash on Delivery?
Yes — if it’s the option they trust, they will, even with a small fee. What changes is the share of customers who pick it. Many merchants see meaningful migration to prepayment after introducing a transparent surcharge.
Does the fee respect discount codes and promotions?
Customer-facing discount codes apply to your products as normal. The COD fee is added as a separate line item with its own behaviour, configurable per-market.
Can I exclude certain customers (B2B, wholesale)?
Currently the fee applies whenever Cash on Delivery is selected. Customer-segment exclusions are on our roadmap. If you need this, let us know — merchant feedback drives our priorities.
What happens when I uninstall?
The COD Fee product remains in your catalogue (you can delete it). All app sessions in our database are deleted within 48 hours of uninstall, per our privacy policy.
14 days, no card upfront.
Install on your Plus store, configure once, see the impact in your first week. If it doesn’t work for you, uninstall before day 14 and you’re not charged.
